A university media department needed to centralize its backup and archiving infrastructure to orchestrate secure backups from across multiple servers \u2013 physical and virtual \u2013 while adhering to data protection laws and privacy compliance. With multiple labs and production teams spread across campus, maintaining separate backup systems was costly and inefficient. Different departments were using a mix of direct-attached and network storage systems with no standardization, making coordination and recovery difficult.
